Honeybee Store, Cose to Home, Great Experience

I discovered this honeybee supply store after realizing that a captured swarm was queenless and had a working layer which is NOT a good thing.
After getting some recommendations from a local beekeeper group Facebook page, I called and ordered a queen, happy to be able to pick it up just 20 minutes from my home. After arriving and discussing my situation both the local in store expert, we agreed that just a shake out would not work well and he put together a couple of frames if not only brood, but a ton of bees to go with it. Packed them in a ventilated box and sent me on my way.
Well I quickly learned that I could not put the Langstroth frames into a Layens hive without some serious modifications, and had to scramble and get a Langstroth box ready.
Introduced the bees and put the queen into the box and hoped for the best.
Three days later after inspection, the queen cage was covered with bees and it did not look like the queen had been released. I manually opened amongst all the bees swarming around it and was disappointed as all I saw was a few dead bees in the cage, but no sign of the queen. Sad at the thought that I had lost the queen, I went to put the box back together and low and behold, the queen was right there on top of one of the frames I had removed for inspection!! Yeah!!
All that said, the folks there were very helpful, knowledgeable, have all the tools and accessories needed for beekeeping. Super excited to have this store so close to home in North Cumming area.
